Planning a Turkish night at home

Published

Stuffed vine leaves with lemon slices

A Turkish night is a long, shared meal. Dishes come to the table in waves and everyone helps themselves. Here is how we plan one with you.

Start with the numbers

Tell us how many guests are coming, the date, where the meal will be and what time you would like to eat. Let us know about any allergies or dietary needs early.

Build the menu in three parts

  • Meze and pastries: stuffed vine leaves (sarma), cheese pastry, salads and dips.
  • Mains: grilled chicken şiş with rice or bulgur pilaf, köfte, grilled peppers and tomatoes.
  • Dessert: baklava and rice pudding (sütlaç) with cinnamon, with Turkish tea or coffee.

Space and timing

We prepare everything in our kitchen in Coleford and bring it ready to serve, with our own serving equipment. For BBQ we bring our own grill. Allow two to three hours for the meal itself.

Our Turkish night package is £200. Send a booking request and we will suggest a menu for your group.
